Our awards and recognition
Year after year, we’re proud to be ranked among the world’s best places to work - in Canada, in North America, and around the world - as determined by impartial corporate surveys that gather our people’s opinions on how they feel about Hilti.
We also receive various industry design awards, many of which commend our products for their ability to enrich society through their innovation and human impact.
Hilti Canada (Corporation) has been named to the exclusive 2018 List of Best Workplaces™ in Professional Services as a result of an independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work®. In addition to this most recent recognition, Hilti Canada was also named a 2018 Best Workplaces in Canada, marking the eighth year in a row to be named in the Top 50 workplaces nationally.
“I’m so honored to lead such and outstanding team of high-performing, caring and inclusive people,” said Martina McIsaac, President and General Manager of Hilti Canada. “We’re getting the word out that the construction industry is a great place for everyone – including women.”
The GPTW noted that that Hilti’s recognition stemmed from several factors, most notably a culture of team member development. All new team members receive two months of training, and all employees are giving ongoing product training and professional development. Employees can even develop their skills at a post-secondary institution. A manager’s main role is coaching and motivating their teams, something that is built into their performance targets and bonus structures.
Hilti (Canada) Corp. has again been named one of the Best Workplaces™ in Canada, moving up to #43 this year from #44 in 2017.
The awards were presented Wednesday night, April 25, 2018, in Toronto. The 2018 Best Workplaces™ in Canada list is compiled by the Great Place to Work® Institute. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from confidential employee survey results and the remaining one-third comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to five trust-building dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.
Hilti is honored to be named in the top 40 companies in the 2017 list of Best Workplaces in Canada for Women.
To be eligible for this list, organizations must be Great Place to Work Certified™ in the past year, have a minimum of 50 female employees, and provide a male/female breakdown by job level (non-management, middle management and senior management).
The employees surveyed at the organizations on this list had a minimum 90% positive response to the statement "I am treated fairly regardless of my gender".
They also factored in the Best Workplaces for Women based on levels of workplace trust experienced by their female workforce as well as their people programs that support women.
Great Place to Work® Institute is a global research, consulting and training firm that helps organizations to create and sustain high-trust workplace cultures. It recognizes that, by building a rewarding cycle of personal contribution and appreciation, companies can deliver outstanding business performance.
